I am a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Department of Computer Science at Oklahoma State University. I have completed my Ph.D. in Computer Science from University of Tulsa. I have received my Master's in Computer Science from University of Tulsa, and Bachelor's in Computer Science and Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. My dissertation topic is "An Adaptation Assessment Framework for Runtime Security Assurance Case Evolution." This research focuses on embedding security awareness into the autonomous system to enhance security and reliability of adaptation decisions.
I am Dr. Sharmin Jahan, an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science at Oklahoma State University. I have completed my PhD in Computer Science from the University of Tulsa. My research focuses on dynamic security assurance for the autonomous systems, a.k.a. self-adaptive systems (SASs). This research aims to embed security awareness by interpreting dynamic operational environment with potential uncertainty using explainable AI model and enable autonomous decision-making ability within SAS to assure its optimal security compliance confidence. The outcome of this research will be to develop a framework to determine the potential for the system’s compliance degradation with security requirements due to a dynamic environment change and choose the best optimal adaptation to continue its operation and maintain its security capabilities. This framework will be designed to enhance the system’s resiliency and include separate analysis and assessment models. I am looking for different machine learning models to develop the analysis model and integrate with the assessment framework that I have developed as a part of my PhD research. I am also looking for challenges related to explainable AI in security for different domain applications.
